Our lab is proud to promote the Science Meets Parliament program, a unique initiative designed to connect scientists with policymakers to foster evidence-based decision-making in politics and meaningful dialogue between the two groups. This program is organized by the Canadian Science Policy Centre (CSPC) and supported by the Office of the Chief Science Advisor (OCSA).

As health researchers, we believe that integrating scientific evidence into policymaking is essential for addressing society’s most pressing challenges. This program is the perfect opportunity to facilitate this process. Additionally, learning how policies are developed provides researchers with valuable insights into the process necessary to translate our work into tangible impact!

I found my experience with the BC Science Meets Parliament program to be both inspiring and impactful. It was a wonderful opportunity to gain insights into policymaking while gaining an increased appreciation for how health research can be incorporated into policy! I highly recommend this program to any researchers who are passionate about evidence-based decision making or who are curious about how policies are decided and implemented. It’s an opportunity to grow as a scientist, communicator, and to increase knowledge and connections among scientific and political communities.”
